Hospitals South, Tasmanian Health Service
Hospitals South is seeking expressions of interest from suitably qualified people for membership of its Consumer and Community Engagement Council (CCEC).
Members of the Council work with each other, and Hospitals South Staff, to improve healthcare services and delivery in southern Tasmania.
This advisory role calls for an understanding of the importance of consumer and staff partnering in:
- shaping strategic direction, operational planning, and organisational processes to deliver safe, high quality, patient-centred care
- underpinning the eight National Safety and Quality Health Service (NSQHS) Standards of the Australian Commission on Safety and Quality in Health Care (ACSQHC)
- supporting the ongoing accreditation of Hospitals South.
Council members draw on their own personal and professional experience, knowledge, qualifications, and skills to:
- Prepare for, and attend, monthly Council meetings
- Participate as members of Standards committees
- Contribute to the work of other committees and groups
- Provide feedback on consumer information material
- Review staff policies and other formal documents relevant to consumers
- Participate in incident review panels and selection panels
- Make a time commitment of at least 10 hours per month.
It is a demanding but rewarding voluntary role, with reimbursement for incidental out-of-pocket expenses.
