I moved to Tasmania 10 years ago and now live in Penguin on the beautiful North West Coast. While the area offers stunning scenery and a wonderful lifestyle, I know firsthand some of the challenges that can come with living in a region where services can be limited.  Rather are often thin, with accessibility for many limited by equally thin public transport.

Living with multiple health conditions has given me a strong personal interest in making health care more accessible, responsive and person-centred. Throughout my career, I worked in education, counselling and student support roles in secondary schools and TAFE, before moving into management positions focused on access and equity, staff development and faculty leadership.

I have a long-standing interest in personal growth and development, which continues to be an important part of my life today. I am currently involved in consumer advisory committees with Health Consumers Tasmania and the Menzies Cardiovascular Flagship, where I contribute lived experience perspectives to help improve health services and systems.

Outside of health advocacy, I am a passionate supporter of Australian native plants and enjoy helping to grow and protect local biodiversity.

I am committed to ensuring that health services are designed and delivered with consumers, not just for them. My passion is advocating for health care that is shaped by the lived experiences, insights and priorities of the people who use it.
