Lou joined Health Consumers Tasmania as a kitchen table participant. Then joined the team in community engagement. She comes from NZ where she owned and operated a venue that supported takatāpui, rainbow youth and organisations such as the NZ Aids Foundation, Herne Bay House and Hero.

She is qualified in community support and brings this to her own community with such projects as the markets, volunteering and supporting youth events. Along with working at the Health & Wellbeing Hub, she is also employed at the local school.

She has lived in London, New York, Barcelona, Melbourne, and arrived in Tasmania in 2020. The general store that was built in 1918, is now her residence. She loves the rural life, her 2 sheep and is thoroughly enjoying the new challenge of gardening.
