GET INVOLVED

There are many ways members of the public and community organisations can get involved in Health Consumers Tasmania. The level of involvement can be tailored to your needs and circumstances.
At the most basic level, you can join our Mailing List and receive notices and e-newsletters about our events, training and policy work.
You may consider attending our open meetings for patients, carers and community representatives held every second month in Hobart, Launceston and Burnie. These meetings provide a chance to network, talk openly about the challenges our current health system faces and propose solutions.
You may attend a one-off consultation session, which we host in partnership with government agencies. In these ad hoc consultation sessions, we discuss patients experience of a health service and how it can be improved.
We can provide opportunities for members of the public to become ‘health consumer representatives.’ These opportunities assist patients, carers and community representatives to become part of health committees run by government agencies. Sitting at the decision-making table you become a voice for consumers at a systemic level to create change.
Health Consumers Tasmania seeks to be truly representative of the many experiences Tasmanians have with current health services. We welcome your phone call or email, and a chance to meet with you and hear your story.
