Help Shape Future Research into Persistent Pain
Researchers from the Royal Hobart Hospital, University of Tasmania and Monash University are inviting people with lived experience of persistent pain to take part in a consultation workshop that will help inform the design of a future clinical trial.
The K-ADAPT Consultation Workshop has been developed to gather feedback from people living with persistent pain, with or without depression, to help ensure future research is practical, acceptable and centred on participant needs. Organisers are seeking community input before the study begins, with participant experiences and perspectives intended to help shape how the research is designed and delivered.
Who Can Participate?
Expressions of interest are invited from people who:
Are aged between 18 and 65 years Have been living with persistent (long-term) pain for more than three months May or may not be experiencing depression
Organisers note that while the future clinical trial will focus on people experiencing chronic post-surgical pain together with depression, people living with any type of persistent pain are welcome to contribute to the consultation workshop. Those whose pain is not related to surgery may not be eligible for the future clinical trial but can still provide valuable feedback during the workshop.
What Is Involved?
Participants will attend a two-hour workshop where they will be invited to share their experiences and ideas to help improve future pain research. A $100 honorarium will be provided to attendees, and refreshments will be available on the day.
