Venéy Hiller

Venéy Hiller is a strategist and marketing and communications professional with more than 25 years’ experience across agency, government, not-for-profit and consumer sectors.

She combines big-picture thinking with practical delivery capability, working at the intersection of strategy, storytelling, advocacy and execution. Her career has focused on helping organisations clarify purpose, engage stakeholders meaningfully and translate complex policy and system issues into action that delivers measurable impact.

Over the past decade, Venéy has held senior leadership roles in the health and community services sectors, most recently as Chief Executive Officer of Palliative Care Tasmania. During her tenure, she led organisational growth and reform, strengthened governance and sustainability, secured multi-million-dollar funding, and positioned the organisation as an influential voice within government and the broader health system. She has led the co-design and scaling of state and national programs and campaigns that shifted public understanding and behaviour.

Earlier in her career, Venéy founded and led a strategic marketing and communications consultancy, advising clients across health, disability, technology, aquaculture and government. She also built and successfully exited two businesses, including an award-winning brand agency and a consumer product company, bringing strong commercial acumen and practical insight into growth, risk and delivery.

Venéy holds a Master of Business (Integrated Marketing and Communications) from QUT. She brings expertise in advocacy, stakeholder engagement, communications and program development, with particular strength in co-design grounded in lived experience and aligned with policy and system realities.

She is known for building trust quickly, asking considered questions, and maintaining focus on outcomes that align purpose with strategic impact.
