National Cabinet are meeting today to discuss primary healthcare reform where we understand the Strengthening Medicare Taskforce final report may be released. Health Consumers Tasmania wrote to the Premier encouraging him to argue that Tasmanians understand that there are many areas of the health system that require change, particularly in improving access to primary care. As you know it is becoming harder and harder for many Tasmanians to see a GP when they need to, if they can at all. We know there are many issues that need attention and our letter only draws attention to some of those.
