Community Engagement Manager position available. [NOW CLOSED]

The Consumer Engagement Manager is a critical role within Health Consumers Tasmania as this person is required to manage the organisations engagement with individual consumers and the community services sector– a core function of the organisation. It is a hands on and outward facing role of the organisation. The role is responsible for the delivery of HCT successful training program for consumers and health services staff.

The position will require skills, knowledge and experience in community training, particularly consumers who have experienced a positive or negative lived experience of the health system, community groups, and health services staff wishing to engage consumers in their work. An understanding of contemporary consumer engagement practices across a variety of health settings and an ability to motivate, engage and support at risk individuals and groups in a sensitive manner is essential.

The role will also facilitate greater cooperation across the community services sector in developing best practice with consumer engagement and coordinate different consumer engagement groups or committees as required. The position will require the ability to stimulate and foster cooperative thinking in consumer, community capacity building and advocacy capacity across consumers.

HCT is a state-wide organisation and therefore the role will involve some travel and the ability to deliver training in different venues around the state.
