Board Director – Expressions of Interest 

Join the Board of Health Consumers Tasmania
Help elevate the consumer voice for better health outcomes for all Tasmanians.

We’re looking for…

Up to three new Board Directors, especially people who:

• Live in northern, north-west, east coast or remote Tasmania.
• Bring lived experience of the health system — as a patient, carer, family member or consumer representative.
• People with senior leadership or board director experience in the not-for-profit sector.
• We encourage people who are connected to communities that experience access inequity to health services to apply.
• May not have board experience but are passionate about consumer-centred care and well-being. We welcome your interest and can support your involvement.

This is a voluntary role, averaging 2–4 hours per month. Travel and other reasonable expenses are covered.

What you’ll contribute

We’re seeking people with any of the following:

• Personal experience in Tasmania’s health or social care system.
• Senior management or board governance experience (especially in not-for-profits).
• Commitment to consumer-led health and the values of equity, inclusion, and respect.

You don’t have to meet every point. We are building a diverse and well-rounded board.

About the Board

• Meets every two months
• Directors join one subcommittee
• Four-year terms (with rotating re-nomination every two years)
• Selection of new Directors includes a panel with a current Director and two consumer representatives
