Help Shape a Cancer Genetic Testing Tool
24 September 2026

Survey Closes 31 December 2026
Are You a Tasmanian Impacted by Cancer?
Have you been diagnosed with cancer, or do you care for someone who has?
Researchers from the University of Tasmania and Menzies Institute for Medical Research are inviting Tasmanians affected by cancer to help develop a genetic information tool designed to support people in making informed decisions about genetic testing. [Menzies Fl…esting (1) | PDF]
Why Is This Research Important?
Genetic testing can play an important role in understanding some cancers and may help inform treatment options, future health decisions, and information for family members.
The research team is working to ensure that information about genetic testing is clear, practical and useful for Tasmanians. To do this, they are seeking feedback from people with lived experience of cancer and those who support someone affected by cancer. [Menzies Fl…esting (1) | PDF]
How Can You Help?
Participants will be invited to attend a small group session, either online or in person, where they will have the opportunity to see the tool in action and provide feedback. The insights shared by participants will help refine the tool and ensure it better meets the needs of Tasmanians. [Menzies Fl…esting (1) | PDF]
Whether you have personal experience with cancer or support a family member or friend, your perspective can help shape a resource that may benefit others facing similar decisions in the future.
