Community Input Sought on Medical Board Consultation Papers

The Board undertakes wide-ranging consultation on proposals that affect the profession.

Health Consumers Tasmania is sharing these consultation opportunities to help connect consumers, carers and community members with opportunities to contribute their perspectives.

Consultation is an important part of the Board’s engagement with members of the medical profession, members of the public and other stakeholders. The feedback provided via consultation is greatly valued and informs the Board’s development of important documents.

Streamlining the Specialist Pathway: Closes 27 July 2026

The Medical Board of Australia (the Board) is consulting on draft reforms to streamline the path to specialist registration for most specialist international medical graduates. The proposed Specialist pathway requirements would replace the current Standards: Specialist medical college assessment of specialist international medical graduates.

Proposal to Formalise the Competent Authority Pathway: Closes 31 July 2026

The Medical Board of Australia (the Board) is inviting feedback on a proposal to formalise the Competent Authority pathway for international medical graduates (IMGs) via a registration standard (draft General registration for international medical graduates on the Competent Authority pathway).
