As we close out the year and look ahead to 2026, Health Consumers Tasmania acknowledges changes in our Board leadership with some warm welcomes and fond farewells.

In March, we farewelled Director, Jill Morgan, whose thoughtful contributions and regional perspective have helped shape our journey. More recently, our long-standing Director and Chairperson for the last two years, John Pauley, stepped down at our recent Annual General Meeting at the end of his term. We extend our deepest thanks to both Jill and John for their service to HCT.

John Pauley’s involvement predates HCT’s formal establishment as an organisation and his generous volunteering of time, wisdom, and care has had a profound impact on our organisation. Thanks to his leadership, we’ve been able to do this important work and, without the important role that people like John has played, the voice of Tasmanian health consumers wouldn’t be heard in the ways that it is today.

As we move forward, we’re pleased to welcome three new Directors to the Board: Drew Thomas, Jen Hackett, and Veney Hiller. Each brings a wealth of experience and a deep commitment to supporting the voice of Tasmanian health consumers. We’re grateful for the perspectives they offer and the energy they bring to our shared mission.

We also warmly welcome Kate Griggs as our new Chairperson. Kate has been involved in health consumers representation for many years, and we welcomed her as a Director onto the HCT board in August 2024. The HCT board and CEO thank Kate for stepping into this role and for her support and leadership during this period of transition for the organisation.

We look forward to publishing our Annual Report 2024-2025 that was endorsed at our recent AGM and sharing some of our successes with you from over the last 12 months and with further information about our board.
