With the departure of our wonderful Treasurer, Ken Clarke, at the end of his term, Health Consumers Tasmania is seeking a dedicated and skilled Treasurer to join our Board of Directors. This is a volunteer position that plays a vital role in supporting our mission to amplify the voice of health consumers across Tasmania.
About the Role
As Treasurer (Non-Executive Director), you will:
Provide oversight of the organisation’s financial position and monitor its financial health at a governance level.
Support compliance by reviewing financial reports and ensuring the organisation meets its legislative and reporting obligations.
Offer strategic guidance to the Board on financial risks, opportunities, and long-term sustainability.
Promote transparency and accountability by constructively engaging with management and reviewing the financial information they provide.
Who We’re Looking For
We are seeking an accountant or finance professional, preferably with:
Experience in or knowledge of not-for-profit financial management.
Strong understanding of governance and compliance.
Commitment to ethical practice and consumer-focused health advocacy.
