Have Your Say and Help Shape the Future of Crisis Mental Health Services in Tasmania!

The Tasmanian Centre for Mental Health Service Innovation (TCMHSI) is conducting an independent evaluation of the Mental Health Emergency Response (MHER) service, formerly known as PACER.

This evaluation will help determine how effective the MHER service is in responding to mental health crises in the community and how it can be improved to better serve Tasmanians.

Who Can Take Part?

If you’ve received support from a Mental Health Emergency Response (MHER) team or if you’ve supported a friend or family member who has, you’re invited to share your feedback.  Your experience matters, and your voice can help improve mental health crisis support in Tasmania.

All participation is voluntary, anonymous, and will not affect your current or future care from the MHER service.

How to Participate

You can take part by choosing one of the following:

Complete an anonymous online survey (approx. 30 minutes)
👉 Evaluation of the Mental Health Emergency Response Service Survey
(Open from 2 September to 24 September 2025)

Join a confidential online interview (approx. 45 minutes)
👉Tasmanian Centre for Mental Health Service Innovation Bookings
(Interviews available from 8 to 24 September, Monday to Wednesday, 10am–3pm)
When booking, please select: “Evaluation of the Mental Health Emergency Response Service in Tasmania Interview”

If you’re interested, read the Consumer Participant Information Sheet and provide consent.

For those completing the online survey, written consent is provided electronically at the start of the survey.

For those participating in an interview, verbal consent will be obtained at the beginning of the session.

Interview participants will also be asked to leave a contact number or email so a suitable time can be arranged.

As a thankyou for your participation, all participants will receive a $25 gift card as a thank-you for their time and valuable feedback.
