Do you want to use your lived experience of health care to help shape health policy and advocacy in Tasmania? Health Consumers Tasmania (HCT) is seeking Expressions of Interest from people who are passionate about improving the health system and ensuring consumer voices are heard.

Who: We are seeking Tasmanian health consumers, carers and community members with an interest in health policy and advocacy
What: Join HCT’s Consumer Policy Advisory Group and contribute to HCT’s health policy, advocacy, consultations and operational work that influence Tasmania’s health system.
When: Meetings are held bi-monthly
Where: Meetings are conducted online
Support to attend: Support is available if you are concerned there may be barriers to your participation
Remuneration: Remuneration is paid as per our Consumer Payment Guide at $75 per hour

About the Consumer Policy Advisory Group
The HCT Consumer Policy Advisory Group brings together diverse health consumers from across Tasmania to provide advice and consumer perspectives on health policy, advocacy priorities and consumer engagement activities. The group supports HCT’s work to create a more responsive, equitable and consumer-centred health system.

Group members have opportunities to:

Over the past year, members have developed policy position papers on preventative health, partnering with consumers and health literacy, and supported advocacy on issues affecting rural and remote communities, amongst many other achievements.

Who We’re Looking For?
We welcome applications from people with a wide range of health care experiences and backgrounds. No formal policy experience is required- just a willingness to share a health consumer perspective, listen to others and work collaboratively to improve health outcomes for Tasmanians.

We are particularly interested in hearing from people whose voices are often underrepresented in health policy discussions.
